Coolant temp sensor (ecu)
Hi folks, I'm a little confused as to the location of my coolant temp sensor on my 03 WRX STI type uk (ej207)after conflicting info lol,
I've been told off a few different people that its just to the left side of my alternator near the back sticking out the top of the block.....but a lad I spoke to at subaru today seemed to think it was in the cast alloy coolant pipe which is bolted to the top of the block right underneath the inlet manifold?? I may be able to get hold of a sensor to see if it cures my silly idling issue while waiting to get it data logged next week but it'll depend if I have to take the inlet manifold off to replace it (don't think I could be bothered this weekend lol) Regards Mick |
Its on the coolant pipe as youve suggested. But no need to remove the manifold. Intercooler off and you will have enough access

Cheers fella, so it stick out the back of that coolant pipe towards the bulkhead?
might have a pop at it tomorrow if I can get the sensor. Thanks again Mick |
Alyn should have a replacement sensor. :thumb:

yes its on the cross over pipe. on a classic you can do it without taking the ic off, just the air box and gubbins.
