subaru impreza wrx hawkeye mods?
hi all,
I know the hawkeye wrx is around 227bhp, what mods would you do to it to get it around 280 - 300 bhp? and where is wales would you get these mods done and remapped please? cheers |
Panel filter.
Uprated fuel pump. Better/decat exhaust. Good tyres for the power, Linglong Dunstops bit of a no no. Better brakes to handle the power. Better shocks/ARB/drop links to appreciate the extra power. Depending on how old the car is a new fuel filter. Bass box and stickers for an extra 10 bhp. Bob Rawle/JGM etc for a map. Most of the above are self fit. Save dosh then get the map done. |
i may aswell save all that cash and buy a sti then really do you think?
my mate has a mini cooper s jcw 210bhp and don't fancy seeing flying past me lol. didn't realise how quick they were lol |
tbh even if you go sti your still gonna be limited by the engine, why not get yours rebuilt with forged pistons and decent rods etc then go from then.

If its just power you are after then an uprated fuel pump about £70, panel filter £30, a re-map for around £600 and an exhaust for about £600 will get you 280hp+ and 320lbft. As Ian has said though you will benefit further by uprating springs, brakes, wheels and tyres etc.
I have done pretty much everything on the list above but over a period of time as and when my budget allowed. The exhaust, map and fuel pump would really need to be done in one go though just to keep everything running as it should. If you are local or at a meet or something at the same time as me then then you are free to have a spin in mine to see the difference it makes;) |
As above really, I started with the re map then roll bar and springs, then big APs ... And then I ended up going mad at Rcm with a 2.35!
Wrx is a great a-b road car 270 will kill a mini jcw! All year round sun, rain or snow. |
