Spec C now gone to the Germans. A few bits left over.

Well, i had a very quick and smooth transaction from two German enthusiasts that came over to Stanstead airport, then to Cardiff and then were driving back to Stuttgart that night. The Spec C Limited is therefore gone and they have become a little more rare in the UK.

But i have gone from one 'limited' to another:norty:

I have a few bits left over from the speccie. 30 litres of quality methanol, a set of Sti 17" dark silver wheelswith worn toyo R888's on them and a set of Hankook RS2 track tyres that have plenty of life in them for track use. Please pm me if interested. I also have a set of waterproof carry bags for wheels/tyres.:D

Andrew:)

Keeping in mind it is a diesel pickup truck.......

Its bigger than the others on the market
Built like a brick sh!t house. Very heavy duty doors, tail gate, body and interior.
Off road it is unstoppable, the hill descent button is amazing. 4 wheel drive is really good too off road, i have been green laning it an it was awesome fun.
2 wheel rear drive can wheel spin in the wet with no load but the drive itself is easy and car like. The the 6 speed manual short ratio box gets weary around town as over 3000rpm theres not much power so lots of gear changing. No noticeable wind or tyre noise, though i have just stepped out of a spec c. The ride quality is very good considering the leaf springs on the back. It seems that ford have tried to hide the fact that it is essentially a workhorse truck, but the diesel engine at low speed quickly reminds you that it is due to the noise. Between 50and70mph the truck is very quite. Around town with the 2.2 turbo you will struggle to get 30mpg, more lke 26 if you want a smoother ride with a bit of getup n go. The engine pulls well and there is plenty enough power for overtaking. The high ride is great, i love it, and most of the time you just want to chug along with a smail on your face as subarus going flying past you and you wonder what all that aggression is about... Lol.
The 'limited' interior is very nice with leather and the audio system is v.good. The bloothtooth is excellent, and so is the voice control once you have read how to use it.
I was very lucky to find an 8 month old limited where the vat had already been paid so i saved a lot of money. If i was to buy again, i would get the XLT which is pretty much the same without leather and save some dosh, though you dont get rear parking sensors. I can even see why buying a basic model would also be fine.
If you want to spend a fortune the wiltrack 3.2 is all singing and dancing.

Hi apac,

Thanks for that right up answered a lot of my questions https://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-happy088.gif

I have ordered the XLT for the reason you stated above as it 2k extra for leather and an upgraded audio system ( I am Tight) and could not justify the cost of the wildtrack, although I did have the secure roll back as an optional extra to put tools etc same as the wildtrack. The thing is you don’t see many around I think they look great, better than most of the other jeep’s you see around

And I still got the hawk for the weekends…https://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-happy119.gif

I dont think you will be disappointed. :) i have had mine for 10 days and am really enjoying it. Though once the warranty is up in two and a half years i will be getting it remapped for smoother delivery, get rid of flat spots and maybe add a bit of power between 3 and 4k rpm. I want to swap the truckman hard top on mine and get a roller shutter and some roll bars for that yankee look.

The germans were very nice and were over the moon with the car, much more car than they expected. They were ready to pay within 5 minutes of arriving, by the way, fhey were the first to view the car. The test drive did not go over 40mph, they knew what to look for. The price i got was 8.5k not bad comsidering i paid 10k four years earlier.
It did feel weird when they drove off as i had never heard the car myself on the road from the outside.
All in all, it made me realise that there a lot of dreamers on here when you are selling a car and lots of people messed me around, there was a lot of talk from people who would not come and view, and in the end two blokes travelled over 1000 miles for it. The Germans were clean and clinical about the purchase as you would expect and they were going to use it for racing, the buyer already had two evo's, so to me it went to a someone who was going to use it properly and really appreciate it.
