Top of my head as you have a Newage engine bay there, I think it's a one-way air valve for the inlet, but not 100%.

I say as on my last classic I had the same looking piece (which broke) situated near the drivers side of the radiator, with pipes going to where the MAF pipe was etc.

As said I'm not 100% but it does look similar albeit in a slightly different location (probably better design on the newer car if so).

I'll ask again lol, what is it.

It purges something, that much I've gathered. But I could of sworn someone posted a thread on the deletion of these. But looking at the amount of pipes coming off it. It appears quite important:wonder:

stands for positive crankcase ventilation. it sends oil or fuel fumes back to be burned along with the fuel and keeps even pressures in the engine (according to google lol)

Ahh.

Just had a look. But the images show a completely different item, and location for the "PCV valve"

No worrys, I won't press the matter. Was just curious.:D
