A good fuel pump, decent panel, nice exhaust and a good mapper should see you right. Has the ecu been mapped before?

brocksey 23 May 2013 12:40 PM

Its a standard ecu with a prodrive map on jap performance I thought it would do me for now till I get all the bits for the car and then take it to tractive for ecutek ecu is 125 quid will the prodrive one not just fit on and work ok I have a panel filter and catback at the minute

No mate. A ppp car has a few differences to yours. If the ecu has never been mapped before then you'll also have a license fee to pay. If I were you I'd be on the look out for an ecu that's already been mapped

I thought cos the ecu had the ppp map on it would work ah my bad thats and easy 30 bhp gone out the window ha ha

Seriously guys, use the search button

Forget the ppp ecu, just get yours open source mapped

Just wanted abit of cheap power lol till I get all the bits I want

toyney83 23 May 2013 03:10 PM

If you already have the cat back and panel filter then all you need is a new fuel pump which is fairly cheap. Get any compatable ecu that's already had a map or as said to open source.

Buying another ecu which has been mapped is not the way forward. Every car and every engine is different. Its definately not something I'd advise.
Cheap power, there's no such thing. But an open source map is about as cheap as you'll get. Not only will it increase your power (which is the least important bit) but it will also improve the way the car drives.

Whats your target ?

toyney83 23 May 2013 04:43 PM

No said anything about buying 1 and fitting it without mapping. Only avoiding a license fee which would have already been paid on an ecu that's had an ecutek map

Well im planning on getting front mount bigger turbo decat a few more bits so what I might donis just stay as I am at the minute and get all the bits I want out em all on before I go to tractive for map theres alot morw I want but I want to get use to the car this year get a feel for it do a few track days at cadwell and Elvington and then go from there
