Could this blow controller or anything else?
Hi all, I've been having a problem with my fuel pump not priming when first switching ignition on. I think(??) I have it down to possibly being the immobiliser(?) as if I disconnect pump wiring and then connect a 12v feed to get pump buzzing, then connect old wiring back it starts and then run's fine.
The pump has been changed recently along with relay and also a pump controller was fitted and then removed as this made no difference when originally diagnosing. So the question is....If I connect a fused 12v feed to live and a direct earth on a switch, when the pump doesn't prime and I activate switch for a couple of seconds, could this blow the controller? It's a temporary fix until I can get the immobiliser looked at as I'm sure this is the culprit. And it's a pain once in a while when it doesn't prime and I have to go into the boot disconnect the plug to pump and fuel level sensor connect 12v and the connect the o.e wiring back. Hope someone can help. Mark |
