Bailey DV or OEM

I have a bailey dump valve on my bugeye which was fitted to the car when i bought it. I have always had VW turbo cars and you cant use a atmospheric DV on them for the ECU throwing faults and people claim that air bot being recycled can cause turbo stall

Is it better to have a OEM diverter valve or a dump valve on the subaru engine ?

Hi there

Personally I would have fitted OE recirc, depends on the turbo what you are running, but older VF range don't like when they're running DVless(without the any kind DV or simply blanked off DV),but on the TD range you can run DVless without the problem

Well i assume its the standard turbo that is fited, mines a 52 plte so what turbo would that make and should i get this DV off and an original back on ?

Hi there

Do you have STI or WRX,if its WRX then you have TD04,STI have VF35 as standard

I would remove Bailey DV and fit OEM,will be better option on longer run and mainly Bailey FV are not the best,Forge are better

From personal experience I've found Bailey dump valves to be really poor quality. When I bought my car it had one fitted and it would often stick open or leak under boost. I had the standard recirc DV put back on and I haven't had any issues since! Though if you must run an aftermarket one I'd also advise getting a forge recirc.

Oem , both my imprezas had vta bov's and the first thing I did was change em back to the original , the car runs much smoother now .
