Can someone please help

I am going to view this at the weekend but being honest I don't have a clue what to look out for on a Subaru as I'm a Vag man lol. This is the car in question. Is there any common expensive problems to look out for???

Hope you all can help.

Cheers Alex

Hi nice car, looks genuine but like anything looks can deceive? You have got to ask yourself this.I took this car in px against my car but cant drive it around here because of all the speed humps????????
Living in an area with speed humps you would know this before you done the px?
Be cautious.
If you do go and have a look it is worth paying just over 100 pound for a full rac/aa inspection on the car before you let go of 10k.At the end of the day spending 100 pound for a professional to look the car over is money well spent.

Echo above private sale so sold as seen Important buy with your head and not your balls

Tooo low it's on coil overs just raise it up 2inches !!!!!

See 2,5ltr issues

Check coolant/ overheating bubbling as there were head gasket issues

Also check oil usage/blue smoke

IMHO iirc

Sounds to me like he's done 200 miles in it found out it's over heating, took it to the garage for a check only to discover head gasket on it's way out so moving it on sharpish.:Suspiciou

But i'm a cynical suspicious old fart so I could be wrong, but i'm usually right.;)

£10k is too much for a 2.5 that's not forged, there are 2.0l cars out there for similar money without the worry, that's where my cash would go.

All IMO of course.:)

Fall's smack in the middle of the headgasket / ringland mileage issues, tread very carefully with this.

He says he took it in Part ex, yet at the end of the ad he says that he looked for months for an STi like that.

I've bad vibes as well.

If you have to travel a distance to view it have him bring the car part way, so it's warmed up when you test drive it.
This is probably an obvious thing to say (and I don't mean to be patronising) but if you've never driven an STi you wouldn't know if it was doing what it should (pulling power, handling etc), and probably wouldn't want to push it on a test drive. Therefore you've nothing to benchmark it with.

Btw aren't speed bumps much the same all over the country?

It does look low but You can simply adjust the ride height on coilover suspension up by 25mm should be ok. But even 50mm or 70mm :wonder:

so sounds horse **** to me.

Perhaps excepted it to get rid of RS and and saw prices od JDMs hawks £15k so he had bargain and then found its a uk hawk £9k
