XENON BALLAST UNIT
 

My xenon ballast unit on my hawk passenger light has packed in, and Subaru can only supply a complete headlight unit. Does anyone know if it's possible to repair the existing ballast unit or retrofit another? Don't really fancy shelling out for a new headlight!

I'd go for one of the new type of slimline electronic ones, but remove yours first and check what bits you need.
Some come with the igniter in the ballast, some with it separate, (you'll see ones with a rectangular box incorporated in one of the leads to the ballast).

Buy whichever yours needs, DO NOT buy the cheapest you can find, if you can get branded go for it (Hella, Philips, Morimoto), and make sure you get one that serves your type of bulb, (single filament).

Alcazar- thanks for your input! I'd imagine this will be a much cheaper option. Next question for people out there is, has anyone replaced an OEM ballast with an after market one before? Any guides etc?
