Engine for 53 plate wrx

Just wondered if anyone could advise where I could get a 53 plate wrx turbo engine from for a good price.

I also have a 53 WRX with big end bearing fail. Now I decided to rebuild as I have built many engines before and its a lot cheaper.

I would still advise you to rebuild though as these engines don't really come cheap and even if you found one at a reasonable price its still going to have mileage on it and the potential to go again.

I have seen some engines from traders or members on here at around the 1000 mark which have had rebuilds but obviously if you are going to spend that you might as well have a fresh build done for yourself.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice.

I think ill do that. Makes sense.

Can you advise whats the best parts to use when rebuilding a wrx lump eg head gaskets, head bolts etc.

Anyone got one forsale for a decent price?

Oops just seen this, it depends what you want. Standard rebuild yea? What was damaged on your current engine? For example if it was the bottom end that went you will probably need a new crank and rods....

my old engine is totalled as bottom end went along with smashing a piston into the head. Need a complete engine or just heads as i have got a bottom end on the shelf.
