Anyone with a WRX-s
Looking to see if anyone has one that can pass on some information. Tried using the search but typing in WRX-S only brings up 2 threads.
Appreciate if anyone who has one, or knows a member that does drops me a note. Thanks. |
If your on about the hatch then

I have one and very pleased with it
|
U recommend it then.

Yep reason I went for the s and not the sti is I have a 2 year old so thought the sti was a bit hard in the suspension.
I love the car ive had 3 other scoobys and its by far the better to drive also my brother in law has the new focus st even without all the problems hes had with it I still wouldnt rate it anything as good as the wrxs. I would go for a test drive and like me u will get a pleasant suprise |
Is the exhaust on these quiet or is it possible to get the Burbble by upgrading the exhaust. Tried having a look around YouTube to no avail...
|
Theres a lot of cat back and full systems on the go now. I could be wrong but I think if you want the real burbly noise u change the headers as with the other imprezas
|
Changing the head doesnt sound fun, easy or cheap
|
Not the head the headers ie manifolds its not that bad a job

no bother, there are covers to remove and such, but its not that bad a job. |
I had one for 14000 miles loved it, few things to note.
need super unleaded, although I didn't know, I actually only ever used 95 ( first scoob you see ) but was fine. Not very mod able compared to STI, so for the Money just make sure its what you want, because you can if you look get an STI for nearly the same. Crossroads have a nice one in, Ive just got rid of my STI Saloon today and I was looking at it only 12k. Nice cars though, for the cash, but STI has more potential in the mod world |
Decided after much research it needs to be an STi 2005-2010 Saloon for me
|
ok well the new saloons didn't come till 2010, so before that it was I think the Hawks.
If it was my Money id go for maybe an RB320, but just be careful because imsure the older models drank fuel like Oliver reed. The newer ones IE WRX-S and My Old just gone Saloon 320R were a lot better ie 260 300 a tank, where as the older ones push 200ish. someone will clarify though. Ted Unsure what im gonna get next but 460 a year road tax and super unleaded fuel only wasn't for me. I need 95Ron and cheap to run LOL |
You can have them remapped to run 95 ron, but at £300+ for the remap it'll be a while before you start to save any money, sometime after 20/30 fills which is around 6000 miles.
|
They are nice cars.
Just done the deal on a WRX-S GT. 2.0L twinscroll import :thumb: |
Im lost here guys as I thought the wrxs was 95 ron fuel does anyone know for certain as even inside my fuel cap says 95 ron fuel only ????
|
I've a WRX with PPP, so same map and exhaust etc and has STI spoiler but doesn't have the wheels and splitter.
Flap says 95RON only, but Subaru engineering statement in 2010 after the **** storm with the engines says 97 minimum. Go figure. Had mind nearly 3 years. Not an 'S' but if anything particular you'd like to know then happy to help. |

Yes I asked stickers were not changed as part of ppp
It's 97 but as above I ran 95 for a year and was fine |
I have a WRXS owned since new on 10 plate and I must say I am still happy with it and enjoy the way it drives. I have always run mine on normal 95 RON as that is what the flap and handbook say.
Mine is the WR Blue Mica which I love. I think from most angles the shape is good - the alloys are great and the roof spoiler and front lip finish it well. The best bit is the flexibility and torque - 40 mph 4th gear and it will accelerate such that you think it's in 3rd. I like the interior in terms of layout and dash etc. Things that do let it down - dash plastics are poor quality, like a lot of scoobs and scratch. Seats are comfy but the leg bolstering is poor and too low. Fuel economy is bad, my long term average is 22.8 mpg! Road tax is £460 per year. I plan to keep it for a while though - have only done 23k in 3 years, still on original Pirelli pzeros. I expect there are other alternatives - Mk 2 focus ST, Seat Leon, or older Scoob saloon. |

My old wrxd yes diesel is at Edgar's Rowrar Cumbria
wR blue one owner from new 09 modle 48 mpg 43k miles on clock and immaculate with a few tasteful extras £12995 if anyone fancies a Deisel version of the wrxd |
@ lord harding, what made you get rid?
|
Need something a bit higher up for access as I'm not Er .....agile as I used to be
Hence I didn't get the BRZ which was in my original plan Didn't really want one of the last STi with 22mpg and £480 rfl and insurance costs as I'm planning to reduce my working hours in the next year Didn't want To wait for the new impreza which would be couple of years away and then there was no guarantee that subaru would import it Don't regret owning the wrxd as it ticked all the boxes for me 4years ago And of course I still have the Greenwagon for the last 13 years . Quite like my new toy though but I will get riddaculed on this forum |
Come on spit it out, what have you got.

^^ since he has gone into hiding I'll answer.
The WRXd 48mpg is his real world mpg, checked over his ownership via fuel receipts and then calculated the correct way for 4yrs I believe.:thumb: I recon he's gone and bought a hyundi or honda diesel. |
