STi TYPE R V4 EJ257 - AFP20g
A painful sale! I have put a lot of work (and money!) into this car and it pains me to put it up for sale but I just cant justify having 2. Its a real head turning car and the paintwork is in excellent condition. Car will come with 10 months MOT and Tax.
It has never wanted for anything and has always had regular servicing. The engine was built by Zen performance and has covered about 12k since then, some of these were running in miles. When built no expense was spared, I used a brand new EJ257 and some top parts as listed below. Its always been looked after by Zen and I have a lot of receipts for all the work. Surprisingly for a 2.5 it uses no oil what so ever, it has an oil change every 3k and during that time I have never had to top up. Not sure if this was my excellent running in or Zen’s excellent build! Comes with all the receipts to prove work. The Car has done 62,000 which is irrelevant really as the engine is only 12,000 miles old. Last time it was on a rolling road it made 380/380 (Zen’s old Dyno which reads lower than most others) with the boost coming in nice and early. It has since had an FPR fitted and the map tweaked to suit and it felt much quicker. I would guess now its 390/390 – 400/400. https://www.scoobynet.com/picture.ph...pictureid=7198 https://www.scoobynet.com/picture.ph...pictureid=7197 https://www.scoobynet.com/picture.ph...pictureid=7199 https://www.scoobynet.com/picture.ph...pictureid=7201 http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps692ce22d.jpg Spec: Engine: EJ257 (12k Miles) Mahle Forged Pistons (12k Miles) Rebuilt V3 STi heads (12k Miles) RCM K&N induction Kit (2k miles) ARP 11mm Head studs (12k Miles) 1.4mm Subaru Headgaskets (12k Miles) Water Pump (12k miles) API Modified Oil Pump (12k miles) Zen performance Repainted Inlet Manifold (12K miles) Gates Timing belt and tensioner replaced (12k) Rebuilt AFP 20g (12k Miles) 550cc Injectors Samco Inlet Pipe ZeroSports Aluminium induction pipe ECU/management Apexi PFC with hand commander (Installed and mapped by Paul at Zen) AVCR (Installed and mapped by Paul at Zen) Interior: Prosport Guages (Oil temp/Oil pressuse/boost) Kenwood Double DIN head unit, with remote Dynomatted front doors with Hertz speakers STi front mats Cooling: ZeroSports Cool Themostat Brand new Radiator just fitted Hybrid FMIC Custom air intake from front bumper Samco Radiator Hoses Exhaust: Ceramic Coated Equal Length Manifold Ceramic Coated Up-pipe Kakimoto GT 1.0z Titanium Exhaust (extremely light and loud) Fuelling: 550cc Injectors Fuel lab FPR Walbro Fuel Pump Brakes: Godspeed front big brake conversion with Blue Stuff pads (5K Miles) Godspeed Rebuilt front callipers Grooved Disks all round Blue stuff rear pads (5k miles) Rear Handbrake Shoes replaced (2k miles) Brake Stopper Braided Hoses all around Wheels/Tyres: WRX Newage Alloys, No kerbing at all, paint has some slight bubbling in places. Your best bet would be pistonheads imo. |
I keep going back to this on the for sale sites as it's a great spec and decent mileage. Unfortunately I don't have the spare cash for it :lol1: Still not a fan of the front bumper but can't fault the rest of the car at all.
|
Thanks Matty, will give that a try.

My advice would be to keep it away from eBay. Good imprezas never seem to do well on there.

Thank you! Know the front bumper isn't to everyone's taste, not too hard to change though. Certainly a lot of car for the money considering the mileage the engine has done.

Wanted to say that I saw this last weekend and its a nice example. Engine work has been well done and it runs strong. Was a pleasure to meet you!
|
Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow :thumb:
PM sent ;) PS ... very excited ... |
Lovely to me you today Dave and a huge thank you for being patient and explaining things to a newbie :thumb:
Got it home safely and now tucked away in the garage (just fits!) Good luck with your new project and hope to chat with you in the future. :) I hope nobody was badly hurt in the accident that closed the M25 J28-J29. If it was human error that caused thousands of us delays and frustration then I'm very !""££$$ off. |
Was good to meet you too. Any questions give me a shout!
Hope you enjoy ownership as much as I have! |
I took the family out for a quick spin and asked them what they thought of the car later.
Wife: If I go in it again, I'm sitting in the back with a crash helmut on Daughter (who was in the back): It was scary, it made loud noises! So, a successful introduction to the scooby then :lol1: |

Welcome to the world of Scooby ownership, and at least the traffic jam gave you longer to enjoy being in it (he said, knowing what a pain it must have been). The car looks a cracker. |
:lol1: excellent!
Glad you are pleased :thumb:
