Replace battery?

Picked up an 06 WRX STi this week.. battery is 7 years old so I took it for a free check at halfords. It was showing 47% service life and 'unserviceable', so it looks like I should get a new one.. although no problems starting or anything yet. The guy at halfords suggested leaving it until after summer and replacing it for the winder but I'm not sure thats a good idea?

Also if I do replace the battery.. is there any 'gotya's' I should know about with disconnecting and reconnecting power.. do things need reset/codes etc? or should it all just come back online.

thanks

no mate, just a easy swap! the only thing that will happen is the alarm will sound until the power is back on.

Super easy job

As said mate, 10 minute job.

Mine was down to around 30% and was dieing on its adss if I sat in the car for more than 5 mins with radio and side lights on, replaced with a Bosch S5, big warranty and equally big cold cranking power. paid 60 fitted locally.

Easy job :) ... done mine in 10 minutes

I also have a 2006 hawk and my alarm was going off intermittently, the change of battery has sorted it, well worth the £

Cheers
