Noticed the other day that the seal that goes around the top of the windscreen does not lay flat. It looks like water will be able to get down towards the screen. Anyone elses look like this, not sure if its a problem or not.
Scoob lives in the garage, so rarely gets wet for sustained periods, so that may explain why I aint noticed any water inside?

The windscreen is sealed to the body by a continuous bead of black sealant/adhesive with no gaps or nuffin. The top moulding is attached by wide plastic clips which grip the gap between glass and roof panel, just try clonking it back down, these clips inevitably break if you try to get the moulding off carefully!!! (not very expensive though).

So NO the glass will not leak in, the moulding is purely cosmetic.

How many of you know that fully bonded glass (ie windscreen/rear screen) actually play a very important role in body stiffness to the shell structure. This is why they dont use the old rubber seal pulled in with rope these days as it was'nt structurally strong.

Windscreen moulding
 
Hi, I have lost the LH side moulding from the windscreen of my 1999 Forester. I had the windscreen replaced by Autoglass just over a year ago and it has not fitted properly since then. Any ideas wher I can get a replecement strip and does it have to be a Subaru main dealer?
