Quick Question Regarding Bank Statements Sent by Post
Do they typically show full card numbers? From memory they do not, and a bank statement with card number is being requested in a verification process I'm currently going through. I'm almost sure they don't show that information.

Bank statements do not have a card number on them, the statement refers only to the account and as dpb says it has sort code and account number only.
As I mentioned did they want a CC statement? Shaun |

Perhaps they want the statement that shows the original debit card payment to them. You will not have a separate debit card statement. The bank statement will not show the debit card number.
Statement will show date and amount and where money went so is absolute proof that you paid them. dl |

Statement will show date and amount and where money went so is absolute proof that you paid them. dl Their validation form states that they require a photocopy of a recent statement showing my name, address and card number, the latter obviously not being possible, and I can't see it being possible for most people with a UK bank account. But anyway, that's all they request. Now, I also have a new debit card for the same account as my old one expired. So they then stated that they needed a bank statement showing the new card is for the same account or a letter from my bank confirming the same thing, but I argued again that no UK bank statements show the information they're looking for, so they cannot possibly need me to provide it unless all their other UK players go through the same hassle. I then suggested exactly the same as you: that a bank statement could only link an account with a card if the transaction with them was shown, that I could provide exactly the same thing anyway and that it would therefore be pointless jumping through yet another hoop. They agreed. |
