I got a rolling body version 1 Wrx and have tried replacing everything from a 98 version 4 sti. This version 4 was modified, just about everything upgraded you name it, aside from internals.

Last year I shipped the car up north to my father so he could fund the completion of my car, I haven't had it for a few months nor have I worked on it for possibly 1-2 years due to funding issues. So I'm a little rusty on what needs to be done.

My main question is has anyone done this before, and if so what were the issues and was it successful in the end.

The car is now running, however there are a few electrical issues.

-later version door cards do not work. The rear cards fit the same loom but windows do not work. I'm sure I have the loom for the frnt doors but I will have to check.

-ABS- the abs unit from the later Wrx was fitted but the abs light is on when running. It is all hooked up and lines in the correct place I believe.

-brakes are spongy no matter how many times you bleed the system

I will have a look at the car today and update the thread as I've just got it back. I will answer any questions as best I can. Apologies in advance if there is limited information.
