Maxxis Maz1 ?? Reviews anyone ?

Hi Guys

Been looking at getting some new tyres and for the price and fantastic write ups I have read on the net I just wonder if anyone had anyy experience with them been on a scoob ??

Also just a side question I have the standard wrx wheels on a Bug wagon and width is 215 will a 225 fit comforatably ? I know you can usually go 10mm either way can anyone just confirm this ??

Cheers

Have these on my xxr527 mate supplied by Keith @ revolution. So far so good only done about 1k miles but they'll be going back on soon for the summer. I also read great reviews on these and for the price thought its worth a try

Cheers Lads

Anyone know about going up to a 225 from a 215 on the standard wrx wheels on a Bug ?

Anyone else had these fitted with a review/opinion ?

Cheers

I bought a set of Sti wheels for my Blob WRX with Maxxis tyres on, so went from 215 to 225 with no problems. Have found the tyres pretty good to be honest. Probably wouldnt buy them again as you can get better tyres pretty cheap on Camskill. Nothing wrong with the Maxxis thats just personal choice mind..:thumb:

Anyway back to the question I had, Anyone used this tyre on a scooby ? According to reviews ive seen they way out performed other branded tyres when it came to dry and wet performance.

But if as "Emmaroids" says they are ditch finders I will look at other tyres.

Cheers

Depends what you want from the car, I have some budget winter tyres, but stick with re070 for summer, I can't see the point in fitting budget tyres and not getting the best from the car.
If going with 225 tyres I would fit sti wheels as they are wider.

Been using them for the past year.

Medium hard type compound with medium firm sidewalls. Seem to suit the AWD Impreza well IMO. They are also quite good in the rain with quite a large, wide tread pattern. Good value for the what they cost.

I would also consider Hankook too in this price range.

Thanks for taking time to reply.

Ive had a few different brands of tyres on before Bridgestone potenza, some budgets, uniroyal, but best of all the Federal 595's without a doubt best in went and dry. Just wanted to try something else, Its them (Maxxis) or the Nexen 8000 this time around.

Tommy, you do know that the Federal 595's are highly thought of and are used as a track / fast road tyre?

They aren't the most expensive tyre but they are supposed to offer excellent grip levels in the dry and wet, I've not used them myself but did consider them until I got some Pirelli TA tyres. :)

not had experience of them myself but personally wouldnt entertain fitting budget tyres to a performance car.

Different model of the 595 tyre, but the Internet is full of differing opinions but for the money they are good value.

Seriously fella, only down side is wear and motorway noise. I bought the potenza's 1st due to good reports but I honest think the federals are better, just personal choice I think. Good hob really otherwise only scoobs would be on the road fitted with Bridgestones lol. Everyone to the own just trying to gather some info on what's out there and ppls experiences. Cheers lads
