Brake Cooling Ducts

Im thinking of carbon fibre products to make and thought about the brake ducts. Are these popular?

http://www.fmpracing.com/images/cs_cf_duct_gdc.jpg

Also what about carbon STi winglets?

g7prs 03 April 2013 02:31 PM

I think they would be more popular if they were

A) available over here
B) cheaper :D

CarBen Fibre Creations 03 April 2013 02:35 PM

This is why im here mate :D

samben 03 April 2013 03:42 PM

I'd be interested in two of the carbon brake ducts for the right price mate.

Ash170990 03 April 2013 04:09 PM

you need to make more stuff for classics lol

CarBen Fibre Creations 03 April 2013 04:17 PM

If there is enough interest for a product I'll make it mate, got some interior panels coming at the end of the month for the classic so watch the trader section :)

stevep360 03 April 2013 04:23 PM

Ben , I am guessing there will be a lot of interest for stuff like this, also for bonnet vents as they are hard to get and expensive,

Good man, well ill be after plenty of bits in due course.... boot, spoiler, roof with type r flap(if available?) bonnet with vents and scoop, doors, and maybe wide arch kit depending on price....

not massivly fussed by interior parts as i dont really have an interior lol but maybe carbon door cards....

More the race style then ;) I can definately do all of them mate it'll just take a bit of time to get the parts, have them moulded and then start manufacturing :)

i want a set of these brake ducts, rough price? dont think carbon winglets will be a big hit but ya never know, how about front splitters?

CarBen Fibre Creations 03 April 2013 05:43 PM

No idea till I get them but it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than getting them from overseas, im working on splitters at the moment a chargespeed style one for hawk that'll fit hawk and blob plus a standard universal one which will be a flat sheet of carbon or fibreglass rounded to the shape of the bumper.

sounds good, wouldnt mind some carbon mudflaps and a carbon exhaust trim/bumper protector thingy

Moley 03 April 2013 11:01 PM

If you can make them you'll be onto a winner.

I have a set on my car, and have probably have 40-50 pm's asking where i got them from (i bought them second hand)

Carbon mudflaps wouldnt really work, carbon is solid and im not sure about your car but mine catches the mudflaps all the time......the carbon would either crack/snap or the mudflap would pull off the car. Exhaust trim isnt a problem, got that one on my to-do list :thumb:

stevep360 04 April 2013 06:46 PM

if the price is right i will take some cooling ducts

Cannon Fodder 04 April 2013 07:36 PM

I'd be up for a set as well. :)

Interested in also the option to purchase singular
Which can also be used as a air intake feed to the air box/ cone filter.

Fit a 76mm feed from the back to connect to normally used ducting and you will double the market potential.

thats a bloody good point, on that basis, like dragons den, "I'm out". No space with APS DR725 front mount I'm afraid.

CarBen Fibre Creations 05 April 2013 11:07 AM

If there is no space but we have a number of you guys with FMIC interested in a set I can always try to modify them so they'll fit, nothing is impossible :)

Rice Rocket 05 April 2013 11:07 AM

I'm looking for a pair of the APR Naca ducts, but way more expensive than they should be!

I thought that APS FMIC's will work with the standard fog light in place - that being the case shouldn't these ducts also be able to be installed?

I have an APS DR525 which allows the fitment of the fog lights with plenty of clearance around them as well, just a thought. :)
