Very nice mate :thumb:

Gava 01 September 2013 05:12 PM

So i have now fitted the engine into the WRX this weekend but cant get it to run, i have changed the ECU the chip in the key and basically every box from the STI to the WRX. I have fuel getting up to the engine and i have a spark, whe turns over lovely she just will not fire? The STI speedo that i fitted in aswel the outside temp doesnt seem to be working either but that could be anything the only thing that seems suspect is that when you take the key out of the ignition the key light on the dash just flashes now and again

ditchmyster 01 September 2013 05:27 PM

Sounds like crank sensor, have you checked the fuses in the wrx ?

Gava 01 September 2013 05:33 PM

what the ones in the engine bay fuse box?

ditchmyster 01 September 2013 05:49 PM

yes there are 2 of them that go to cam and crank sensor.

Just popped to the garage for a look at mine, they are the 2 smaller square ones in the centre i think, dont know which one is which though

Gava 01 September 2013 05:54 PM

oh right no didnt think to check them lol it ran fine in the STI so ill just change them all lol

ditchmyster 01 September 2013 05:59 PM

Someone might of pinched them as I recon they are quite expensive and if the shell is from a breakers you can bet they are for sale on ebay, and folks always pinch fuses and relays at breakers yards, pain in the arse if it's what your looking for, one of the relays on my transporter is £90.

Gava 01 September 2013 06:02 PM

if it aint them then looks like ill have to get someone with some diagnostic gear to see if they can fault find lol

ditchmyster 01 September 2013 06:09 PM

Tim Farmer at Subbus, he will come to you and is in your area. Number is 07880661866.;)

Gava 01 September 2013 06:12 PM

oh right nice mate cheers for that

Gava 14 September 2013 01:10 AM

she now runs so im happy so i can take it back out and start to rebuild it

Gava 31 January 2014 08:29 PM

Right so its been a while again, the joys or working a full time job and then only getting the weekends to work on the project. Its been a cold and wet winter and my unit leaked like mad so i have now sourced another united a drier unit and now i can seriously crack on with it.

After getting the engine all in and running i have now re fitted all the running gear and added adjustable rear trailing arms and added 6 pot k sports on the rear to go with my 8 pots on the front.

I have now removed the engine again to do the rocker cover gaskets and timing belt plus some other bits, so i thought its about time i updated this thread

WARNING A LOT OF PICTURES (has been 3 months tho)
