money pit dilema
 

I have been driving my WRX for just over 6 months, I have wanted a Scoooby for some time as I have always wanted to modify a turbo and have a car with a lot of brakehorse.

The thing is, the car is a 52 its mint and done 77k it cost me £3500 plus servicing, new brakes tinting, boost gauges etc. Pretty sure I would get £3k back.

To get to around 300bhp with coilovers and a leather interior, Im looking at at least another £2500. This is a lot of cash when you think that the wrx hatches are now down below £7k

Am I better off with a modified blob or hawk wrx with ppp or some work already done? It seems that buying an already modded car can work out well has anyone done this? :wonder:

If you like bugs then selling yours and getting an sti prodrive wouldn't cost to much and a much better base to start from

What car do you prefer the look off? You should have started with a sti as a base if you wanted big power, but you can get 300bhp on your car with vf35/vf34 or vf28. Your std injectors could hit it but ideally you would want to upgrade to the sti pinks. Again your oem intercooler can handle 300bhp but sti upgrade would be better. If you get the items second hand shouldn't cost too much,

I actually like the look of my bug, and I find the wagons boot to come in handy. But getting the parts second hand will add up to a lot more that I first though once I factor in fitting, if you are lucky a car with the work done wont cost any more than a stardard car.

The thing is a newer sti ppp is a better base with more power and it has dccd and a few extras.
