selling 2007 forged hawkeye - whats a reasonabel price?

Hi all,

A quick brief - Had my car for just over 2 years now after being without a scoob for 4 years i missed the noise and bought "back in"(My 3rd subaru), 2007 hawkeye in bright silver, unmarked wheels and interior few small chips and a small scratch on the bumper and a small door ding which could be easily removed - always polished and waxed.

I bought it on 25k miles with PPP done over 2 yr ago and moved shortly after and started doing lots of miles(75 mile round trip every day), ie up to 35k in 1st year and now just hit 57k

After the 1st year I had to get the 5 year cambelt service done so decided to get it forged same time for "peace of mind", fitted new clutch and BCs as one of the shocks was knocking.

Other than that kept the car standard and had it mapped by Andy Carr and it runs absolutely fab, never missed a beat and doesnt burn a drop of oil.

Never been near a track in my ownership and to be honest its been a bit pampered!

Always serviced on/before time and has just had its mot for another 12 months today.

Anyway to the chase.....my work is supplying a daily drive now and im looking to upgrade to something a bit more special and was wondering whats a resonable price to sell it for? was thinking 10k - do you think this is reasonable?

Thanks,

Mike

Apologies, e-mail from Subaru says its a "wrx/sti ltd" one of 25.

Leather interior, black brembos few other dicreet bits other than it ws fitted with the old "ironing board" spoiler:thumb:.

Forgerd bits Mahle, supplied by scoobyworld built by Autotechnica in Buxton (400 mile round trip) as Adam looked after my WR1 and helped my out with my Evo 9 and a good few of the Wr1oc members.

Cheers.

Knowing you, you paid someone to keep it clean.

But as it is yours, i can vouch that no expense would have been spared.

:lol1: I still look at the pics of the old black devil after that proper detail as I do miss that car.

Funnily enough I had a call from a guy who was looking to buy it about 2 months ago as he wanted some history.

Gonna go without a fun car and save a few £££ till end of the year and treat myself at Xmas but what ever I get Im planning it will be a keeper, keep looking at GTRs and Astons but I dont think I'd keep a GTR so who knows mate?

Will prob change my mind a zillion times before Xmas anyway and end up in another scoob.....:lol1:

This scoob is the longest Ive ever kept a car and its about time I stopped chucking money at them - I must be getting old mate:wonder:

jd5217 28 March 2013 10:52 PM

Aston time then, common here. Lol

I doubt you'll get any bites at £10k in the current climate, more like £8k if you want it gone.

GLWTS.

old Revolution have "lost teh plot" there....makes 10k look like a bargain!

So anyone gonna advise on a reasonable price before I put it on pistonheads?

I'd take a look around and see what others are up for, then pitch it around the same for a week or two, then if no bites make it cheaper by a few hundred.

£8.5/9k is a good place to start, but ultimately depends how quick you want it gone, and imo it will go for 8 ish.

I paid £8k for mine 6 months ago from a dealer. MY06 with 51k.
Between £8-9k for a private sale for yours seems about right.

How much did the forged pistons cost? The head gasket seem to be the main weak point in the 2.5's :wonder:
