what to look for....

hey guys soon to be buying my first scooby doo, I still havent decided which one to go for my choices are 1996-2003 but which ever its going to be a wrx saloon,

Is there anything i should look out for when buying & with £2000-£3000 to buy with is there anywhere you guys would recommend i have been checking out auto trader and putting in "trade" as its more likely to be healthy car but as you know and as watch dog has shown us the garages are just as dodgey as the knock off nigel telling you "its ment to make the noise when you drive"

i know it is a bit hit and miss with buying i know a fair bit about cars but not subaru's to be fair and i hear that working on these is a bit of a S@#G

????

Look for very good or full service history, if its had a decay or engine mods make sure it's been mapped, if there's no proof of mapping I personally wouldn't touch it, always check for subframe rot, and the usual as well engine gearbox noises etc.

If you can try buy from the forums, generally I would say the cars are better looked after, and also there will be people on the forums that can vouch for some cars forsale, hope this helps. Wigs
