A while back I got some PC100 RAm from EBuyer.. was x2 128Mb 168 pin DIMMs, as the title says PC100. When I booted the machine it only counted 192Mb ( already had a 64Mb in the machine ).. so it was only counting hafl of what I had put in.. Tried all sorts of configurations but couldn't get it to work, so I sent it back. I managed to find a contact in the states for my motherboard and explained to them the problem.. they replied that my motherboard only supports "Low density" modules, the ones I had bought being "High Density". From what I can gather its something to do with the number of chips on the module?
Can anyone reccomend a supplier of PC100 "Low Density" DIMMs ? I tried Crucial but they can't supply PC100, only 66Mhz. dont have details of the motherboard with me, but the system is a P3 500.. |
Either one of the RAM was broke or the 128 wasnt compatable with the 64, did you try the 128's on their own.

Yes, tried just the 128s on their own and then just each one seperatley, no go :| Be fine when I can find a supplier of "low density"...
