How low can I go. Mk1 escort conversion

Hi all

First post. I am in the middle of making a mk1 escort fit over a 95 wrx sti floor pan

I really don't want to lower the escort shell anymore onto the Subaru chassis as I feel it will cause more problems

But it's sitting high. I see there are 40 mm lowering springs available which is good for me. Is it possible to go more ?

Will coil over kits allow me to Lower more ?

First time I had a scooby. But with other cars I have owned lower you go normal effects more suspension geometry etc

Advice welcome

Matt

You need to put this in the Projects area and keep us updated. Will be interesting to see what people make of it when it is on the road. Deffo upset some boy racers!!!!!

You can go a bit lower, what you need to watch for is the rear drive shaft starting to slope upwards to the outside of the car,
if you do, then when you start to drive it, and cornering hard, they will destroy the inner rear CV joint,
but you can get some uprated one from SD motor sport that will let you have more travel on your inner rear CV joint

Nice project.

Can't help your question but that will be feckin awesome. The marriage of two of my fave motors. I don't live too far away from Horsham as well, so hopefully I will see this being ragged about in the flesh :)

I hope you see it on the road soon as well:)
