Engines on fire on the motorway!

Just wondering from other motorway drivers if you have ever noticed the vast amount of BMW's on fire no the motorway?

Not saying its every week, but i would say 4 times a year i see a BMW on fire, yesterday again i saw the smoke and fire engine and i said to the misses i bet thats a BMW - and sure enough a new BM!

anyone else noticed this?

Yes, it happened to a guy on another forum I'm on in his BMW, don't think he ever found out what caused it

Never seen a BMW on fire, but a VW parked right outside my house once with flames coming out the bonnet. Both me & the driver were crapping ourselves, & with no fire extinguishers to hand all we could do was call 999 & stand well back & watch the show. The fire brigade were really quick but the car was totally burned out the heat was so intense that parts were welded to what was left of the road. Poor bloke had only had it a few days, I'm guessing he got a refund under warranty or insurance pay out.

If anything mate yours is more likely to catch fire:(:

Seems to be a lot of diesels that are spontaneously combusting recently, running on their own oil seems the favourite.
