cam clearences,

I've replaced an exhaust cam on my 2.1 96sti, and wanted to check the clearences,

I believe 0.2mm is the clearence correct?

But what are the tolerances + or -?

If it's not running hydraulic lifters in the heads then:
Inlets 0.006" ~ 0.008"
Exhausts 0.008 ~ 0.010"

Hi Mick,

Yes it is solid lifters :)

Is that the clearence or the tolerance and any idea of it in metric?

AS Performance 05 March 2013 07:20 PM

metric 0.2 for inlet and 0.25 for exhaust...........

JGlanzaV 05 March 2013 07:27 PM

Thanks, what are the tolerances on that o.25?

merlin24 05 March 2013 08:42 PM

0.20 ~ 0.25 in Euro's :D

JGlanzaV 06 March 2013 08:23 AM

Thanks guys. So 0.25 for my ex cam is what is needed.

Any ideas on tolerances + or -? Or is there no tolerance?

merlin24 06 March 2013 09:22 PM

The min/max tolerance for your exhaust valve clearances are in Post 6 mate
