Visiting Chicago
I am off the windy city in May for a week, has anyone on here ever been before?
I watched Billy Connoly's Route 66 last week and there looks to be amazing architecture in the city. |

I watched Billy Connoly's Route 66 last week and there looks to be amazing architecture in the city. Other must-see/must-do items: Evening drink in the bar at the top of the John Hancock tower (ideal time is just before sunset). Night out at a blues club (Kingston Mines gets my vote, but there are others). Deep-dish pizza/steak/burger at one or some of the more famous eateries. Museum of Art. At least one whole day just taking a wander around downtown and up Michigan Avenue. Great place to visit, plenty to do and see, and generally very clean and safe :thumb: |
Just don't go up any dirty alleys with Nike air max's on, you'll get them robbed :)

"Chicago finished out 2012 with a bang, as it passed a major milestone hitting over 500 murders. Chicago has started off 2013 on the wrong foot, with this past week’s murder rate outpacing 2012’s."

100%, one of the most amazing skylines of any city in the world. If that really interests you, make sure you go on one of the architectural boat tours, run by the Architecture Foundation (caf.architecture.org/tours).

The place was nice though, weather was very changeable. You've got to go see a baseball game while you're there. Watch out for the black tramps, they seemed pretty aggressive fcukers when I was there, although that could have been to do with 9/11? |
