How the NHS works

Well that appears to be (at least) £4million of taxpayers money wasted.
Wish some-one would pay me £2million and a fat pension to sit around doing SFA.
I think I can keep my mouth shut - well I'd be prepared to give it a go :lol1:

I think it happens quite often. Particularly if management decide to close a ward or specialist care area and a doctor disagrees.

Happened at our local hospital. The maternity ward was due to be closed but it was kept quiet, a gynea doctor went to the press and there was an almighty to do about it. He actually left in the end and now works in NZ but if it wasn't for him coming forward it would all have happened on the QT.

Even now they are trying to close the special care baby unit. It will mean in an emergency, pregnant women in a bit of trouble will have a good hours drive and not on roads easy to pass like tractors etc which are common here. Its had to go to the Welsh Assembly for their decision. Doesn't make an ounce of sense as they are spending a fortune on a new dialysis center - having spent a fortune on a new A&E department that is now run on minimum staff as they can't afford it.

I really feel for NHS front line staff as 99% of them are top notch but they get the brunt of patient frustrations.
