Photo ID driving licence
I still have an old paper-only, no photo driving licence. I remember some talk a while ago about photo licences being made mandatory at some point, but I've heard nothing since. Is my licence still legal?

It was made a legal requirement that every driver has a Photo Driving Licence last April 2012 ..... plenty have been fined a mandatory £1,000, they didn't want to pay the £85!
I'm surprised you haven't had a fine yet? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Just Joking - they won't be getting money out of me for one of those new fangled things!! |
A change of address will force your hand. Or reaching 70 if that comes first.

Still got the old one as well, there's more holes along the seams where it's been folded than anything else
|
Mine is taped together with old sellotape ..... I'm not paying for a photo ID which expires after 10 years!!
|
Just a con, no need.

DVLA are working on 2015 for end date for paper DL.
I think it will roll on for a couple of years but I expect we will hear more news later in the year. |
I've just sent off for a plastic photo one. I've still got my paper one but it's literally in bits!
|
My wife has to renew the photo on hers. She looks the same and £20 fee for the privilege, that is a feckin' rip!

i need to do mine on 4th august the set of barstools!! i still have the same young babyface !!
|
Maybe if you have not changed to the plastic card one you might get heavily fined for driving unlicensed!
