What suspension parts to go for?
Ok which are the best suspension parts to go for?
I'm wanting the car to be more focused on going round corners than waving my cock around over horsepower. :lol1: I do a lot of miles also, so need some comfortable gear. I used to have Eibach Coilovers on my old car, I thought they were great, but others (majority) said they were crap, so would like advice on best buys. Not too bothered about cost, but, don't go OTT, I'm not paying £8k for a set of Gravel Rally Coilovers So which would be the best parts to buy for the following? H&R, Whiteline, Cusco, Perrin, Eibach? Any others? Here's my shopping list: Anti-Lift Kit Solid Front Droplinks Solid Rear Droplinks Front/Rear Strut Brace Front Lower ('H') Strut Brace Roll Centre Kit Coilovers 24mm Rear Anti Roll Bar 22mm Front Anti Roll Bar Poly Bush Kit Adjustable Front/Rear Latter Links Also, any advice on parts I should or shouldn't include in the list would be good. |
Anyone? Surely someone has an opinion?

I've just fitted the ALK and F - 22mm and R- 24mm ARB. its transformed the car from a straightline car to ne that wants to go round corners. Its an STI with newish dampers and std springs. Its stunning now - wish I'd done it years ago!

Hi there
Coilovers doesn't always means comfortable driving(usually on cheaper brands) ALK(Anti Lift Kit): WhiteLine Solid Droplinks front and rear: again WhiteLine Strutbrace: on this I would say doesn't matter(we are have Cusco) Lower strutbrace(H-Brace): Again personal preference Roll Centre kit: WhiteLine Coilovers : KW V3 or Nitron 2-way if its budget, best two coilovers for money(Many people running cheaper BC with which are very happy or with Racing Logic etc, again this is personal preference and budget) Anti Roll Bars :We are running Eibach, but people highly recommend too WhiteLine Poly Bush Kit: SuperPro Adjustable lateral link you can have only rear one,we are running HardRace About the best prices speak to Alyn@AS Performance 0191 410 3770,he is dealer on all above mentioned manufactures and really worth to speak with him Jura |
Are whiteline very good though? I remember buying the rear drop links for my last car and they were just bent pieces of steel bar. I could have made better in my garage. They went straight back.

Best bang for buck handling mod by far is a quick rack ..... guessing your currently a 2.75 turns lock to lock, the 2.25 makes a mahoosive difference if you can find one! :-)
As for coilovers, im running meisterR's, which are pretty cheap (on a par with BC) and really good quality! The damping on them is specific to UK roads (i.e. you can wind them off for a nice supple ride, or crank them up for smoother tracks and spirited driving etc. The range of adjustment on most other coilies ive come across just dont wind off to be supple enough for uk roads IMO! |

I found out today how much fun over 2bar of boost is with a 2.35L. Took a while for my internals to settle. :D Some good options there from Jura. :thumb: |
