ELM 327 Interface

Probably been done over and over on here but I've got one of these interfaces which I bought from fleabay some time ago but never used.

I've got a 52 impreza blobeye wagon. What software do I need to read off problem codes from my ECU or am I wasting my time with this interface?

Please someone point me in the right direction as I've got an ECU light permanently on and power seems to be restricted currently :(

Cheers Pal. I'll be using a Windows 7 laptop - any recommendations for this?

Is it the cable one or wireless. The cable one comes with a CD, I installed the software provided.

Bit fiddly getting it to recognise the device but once it does its fine

If youve got an Android phone download the Tourqe app mate its brilliant! (providing you have the bloototh ELM)

agree - Torque rocks, bought it and its only a few quid to get at near-real-time values. Obviously the more you monitor the slower it becomes (bluetooth speed) but half dozen dials on screen no problem

iphone REV will knock you back £30, but it does look very polished

It's the USB one - not Bluetooth.

Ive got one and you need easyobd, just google it,download it and use it. Plug your cable to your car, under the steering wheel on mine. I had to hold the plug in as it wasnt registering until i did. Once connected to car put into laptop and start easyobd. Think you need ignition on as well. It works well for me but took a few goes to get it all going. :-). If you get it going you click the little engine light on the screen which resets the ecu,but it will tell you fault as well.
