Dam another powder coated wheel failure, what is it with scoobs and powder coated wheels :lol1: mmmm maybe the extra heat from extreme braking is the key then :D

The Pink Ninja 26 February 2013 09:05 PM

Is that a Rota GRA Ed, Pretty strong wheel if it is.

BIG FUD 26 February 2013 09:05 PM

Was a great weekend shared with some close freind's banny's and idress car's are just mental fast tbh and great lad's.

There was some great car's but best of all some great lad's all know the score not to fck about and to enjoy the day :)

rickya 26 February 2013 09:13 PM

Powder coating on track wheels seems an issue or using non forged or non OEM type wheels on track?

bioforger 26 February 2013 09:16 PM

Not just on the track, one of mine failed on fastroad use, the rim split in half.

Gava 26 February 2013 09:37 PM

where did you get your cage from?

banny sti 27 February 2013 08:24 AM

Great weekend, awesome bunch of guys and a top laugh. Star of the weekend was Fud, kept everyone entertained with his BO53 driving :D

Awesome kinda sums up this thread so far Eddy! From your almost OCD weight saving measures to some of the pics above. Seems you all had plenty of fun on Sunday and now Steve (Hill) is wanting another Scooby lol. Nice one keep it up!

Rescue Dude 27 February 2013 02:36 PM

In case anyone's wondering I took the pics at Curborough.

To be honest eggy made it easy as he was quick and very entertaining. :)

It's a great looking car and mighty quick!!

eggy790 27 February 2013 03:28 PM

cheers maz, was a really good day, you should have come. i reckon your twinscroll would have been perfect for it, tbh even if you didnt run, it was worth it for the banter :D

stephen went out in most cars, giving tips etc. as he is very good. he was actually the one who spotted my cracked wheel, just after i took him out lol. but i could tell he was missing the subaru scene after watching lol

Rescue Dude, did an awesome job of the pics, think he got a good shot of every car there! well impressed :D

Cheers eggy. I'm still learning the camera so I lost some good shots due to a schoolboy error which is annoying. :brickwall

I have learnt my lesson and will have no excuses next time.

Thanks guys. and pm replied on door bar removal ;)

eggy790 05 March 2013 10:15 AM

ok new wheel time after the cracked spoke.. and i dont have a clue what to get..do i go really wide? 10" like rota fighter drift? with abw arches? how will it handle?

or keep it sensible? xxr 527 or 530s? in Matt Bronze 17 x 8.25 width so they not too heavy and i'll still be able to run the 225/45/17 semi slicks i have.. might also be able to go a lil wider on them too when it comes to tyre replacement time.. reckon 245 could fit?

opinions and comments welcome.. what do you reckon will look best but also perform decently.

eggy790 05 March 2013 10:15 AM

or do i just role on gold standards :D

zakscooby1 05 March 2013 07:30 PM

Awesome car and spec :)
I would go wide wheels and abw arches, would finish it off perfect ;)

They do look awesome but really dont know what to do. Performance is always 1st with me, looks secondary. ive had people say dont do it cause it wil ruin the handling with 10" dish. So really dnt kno what to do

rickya 05 March 2013 11:50 PM

some proper JDM mega bling on there! pure porn!

shame some of those aint 5x100

The Pink Ninja 06 March 2013 05:41 PM

You know what you want don't you mate, Only easy place to get them is on NASOIC and shipped over from the states as they got them as an option, I think they only came in 7.5 on a 5x100 as mine are i think but you can get a 235 on them, I'll have a look in a bit :)

eggy790 06 March 2013 05:51 PM

cheers mate, pretty much decided in my head now to run standard gold wheels for time being until something special comes along :)

currently running rota gra's passenger side and standard gold sti wheels driver side lol

banny sti 06 March 2013 05:56 PM
