Horse meat
Answer me this.
If the government can't be certain what the meat is, or where it is from, or where it has been. Then how the hell can they say it's safe to eat? |
What you afriad of
|
I'm afraid of eating something that is not good for me. Aged horses on painkillers or antibiotics. Brains tits and lips. Meatballs may be just that.
You don't think they sold us the best cuts do you? The point is that our government are suggesting that the food is safe, WHEN THEY CAN'T KNOW THAT IT IS! MORONS :( |
Buy from trusted suppliers then like your local butcher instead of pound grabbers like tesco
|
You don't think cooking has some serious affect on any this

Put it this way, if you get the trotts after eating it, it was probably horse, if you fart allot it's cow.

Two different kinds of tests, one to check the stuff is from the right species of animal, the other to check for chemicals, bacteria etc. It's hardly rocket-science, although personally I wouldn't go near a frozen value burger or lasagna.

they cant say its safe to eat they are just trying to stop the Public demanding a ban on EU meat imports as that would prove that we cant over rule EU laws even if public health is at risk

If you purchased a container of Millers 10W50 of me and then, after using several containers, found it was Tesco 5w30 you would not be comforted by the "it's all oil innit" type of argument our government seem to be using. I'm not bothered about eating horse (actually it's not bad) or snails or frogs legs etc. I just expect to receive what I have paid for. A safe foodstuff from a known source. Again, how can they maintain it is safe when they have no idea what it is or where it came from? Our whole food industry has been undermined by greedy foreigners. And again the whole world is laughing at us. :( |
Is it actually an less safe though than our mad cow

Then perhaps the EU should take a good look at itself. UK food providers are going out of business struggling to comply with all the barmy EU laws that the rest of Europe (barring Germany) seem to be ignoring. It is no longer a level playing field. :cuckoo: |

What about equine infectious anemia "Horses Aids"?
:wonder: |
Always moaning, you pay a premium for horse on the continent. I wish I'd bought more of the Tesco burgers whilst I could, delicious.

But seeing as a place in Wales and one in Yorkshire have now been raided on suspicion of using horse meat, I doubt a ban would be likely if we're doing it ourselves too. |
You pay a premium for Horse WHEN YOU KNOW IT'S HORSE
:) |
They can only ban imports of meat once they have been proven to be unsafe to eat :wonder: |
I think it may indeed been the suspicion, are you a butcher your self
The more scaremongering the better for our own I guess |
Surely the point is that we should know what we are buying. If they stick anything in there what is the point in packaging?
If i buy some tinned ham, am i getting tinned ham? or is it soya and some other stuff. If i buy milk has it got horse in it too? Where does it stop, is a carrot a carrot or is it something pressed into the shape of a carrot and sold as such?? If i buy petrol and its got 1% diesel in it, should i be angry? Would we be angry if we bought 99 ron petrol from Tesco and actually got 95 Ron without us knowing?? Of course we would......... |
No the point was, is it safe.
|
First it was Eastern Europeans at fault.
But now you bloody mainlanders are at it. |
And Tesco products are mentioned TWICE.
Yet no-one is pointing the finger at them? No wonder they are Britain's richest supermarket, Tossco. |
I know.
Seriously though, if you're paying peanuts for burgers, what do you expect. something stupid like £1 for 8 burgers - its cheap for a reason. |
