what sports-cat?
I have a 2004 WRX with H&S exhaust including their 100 cell sports cat + remap, unfortunately this configuration has never passed the MOT even when well warmed so necessitating a long trip to visit someone helpful. Admittedly the failure is by a knat's but it is still a failure.
This arrangement is becoming a royal PITA so it is time to bite the bullet and fit a new CAT. The question is what replacement CAT does anyone recommend that will get me through the MOT without compromising performance too much Thanks Stair |
cobra 200cell sports cat will pass MOT.. Think there £265 on exhausts uk site

The Prodrive one should pass an MOT if you can find one. They come up for sale quite regularly.

Have you thought of terraclean, cleans your engine up, helps with emissions, eds China did it on a jag xk8 with impressive results! I think it's usually around £85

Prodrive cat will pass, I have one fitted, never had an issue come mot time.
I read some cats need to be warm to pass, but never heard of one not passing, especially a h&s model.....could you call h&s see if they can help? |
It is a downpipe de-cat? As mentioned, it should pass.

Prodrive.

Isn't the idea of a sports cat is that it will still pass the mot (as already mentioned)?
Maybe check your paperwork or H&S website for more info, as if it's faulty surely they should replace it if it states that they will pass the dreaded mot emissions :wonder: |

Never had any issues when I had one on my WRX. |
With most performance cats you really have to get some heat through them before they start dealing with the C.O emissions before the actual test.everytime I use to go for my MOT the tester use to tell me to take my car up the road for a little burn and when I came back he would just put the test pipe in and it passed every time.
