silly question thread

ok how about a thread for silly, absurd, outwith normal thinking, niggling questions?

on any topic you want - now i know some SN regulars will really struggle to refrain from sarcasm, ridicule, put downs ect - but please lets try keep on topic without belittleing others. if a post is not really relevant, or answering/posting a question - the try your very very hardest not to post. by all means type out the offensive response, but instead of hitting the "post reply" button - hit delete :)

this idea has been stolen from another site, and has been conducted in the manner in which intended - so it is possible :D

ill kick off with - tyre wear and rubber lost where does it go? - with all the traffic on the roads, why are there no build ups of tyre deposits on road sides? even if so small particles blown away by weather, some will not.
will the constituants of tyres - never impact the surrounding enviroment? and what lever of traffic would people think it could have any impact?

i realise its more than one question. Ive got another cracking question lined up lol :luxhello:

will a dump valve give me bhp

jef 04 February 2013 09:11 PM

lol, i agree

but its meant to be a silly question that you have - not others that you know the answer to.

What is the real age of pslewis?

dpb 04 February 2013 09:34 PM

You'll see tyre all over the road in africa, we certainly did

The rest of it is just about to split off the rim

(causing no end of deaths)

Why does your nose run....

Your feet smell....

And and we see how it tastes????

billythekid 04 February 2013 09:57 PM

Car tyres are designed to wear slowly - i.e hard compound - so they dont throw chunks off - even under quite high load.

The microscopic dust that comes off under normal use is, IMHO, blown away and washed away.

I have 2 questions, depending on the answer to the first.

What side of the road do Japanese drive on?

And there's me thinking I was setting myself up to be the butt of a silly joke! :lol1:

I think some of the rubber from tyres seeps into the tarmac surface - one of the reasons why the supposedly wonderful porous asphalt (that isn't supposed to hold surface water) doesn't work as well after a couple of years.

scud8 04 February 2013 10:33 PM

Why, when you look at yourself in a mirror, are your left and right sides swapped but not your head and feet?

jef 04 February 2013 10:34 PM

Why is it that women cannot stack the dishes efficiently in dishwashers?

RA Dunk 04 February 2013 10:38 PM

Why do so many people who hate Top Gear insist on watching it every Sunday?

I ask myself this every week when it's on. :)

That's an eternal question..... It's not in their nature, they seem genetically predisposed to be totally without thought of water flow or mechanics:D

If a Blind Dog craps on the street, who picks it up?

stevebt 05 February 2013 05:49 PM

If a man speaks his mind in the forest and no woman can hear it, is he still wrong?
