PPI vultures

Anyone else inundated by these paraistes calling and trying to get you to sgn up with them to reclaim mis-sold PPI?

One lot don't even bother with humans, just blast the same recorded message at you every day and despite listening to the whole of it and getting to the end where they tell you how to get removed from their list and then following those instructions to the letter they are still calling. Have caller display but they cunningly use different numbers.

Then there is the lot who just rang up who have been trying to catch me for days they say... yeah I know I have been ignoring you, but you too have changed numbers you cheeky gits!!! Anyway I decided to let him take all my details which I made up of course and after about 10 minutes he asked me what loans I had ever taken out.... when I said none, ever... he got quite shirty and accused me of wasting his time. :lol1:

The false name I gave him was Ivor Noel Owns ... the clue was there ;)

It's like one set of crooks putting right the deeds of another!

Just as satisfying to say F5ck Off you piece of sh*t and get a proper job!
To the human messages at least. :D
I'll get a few calls a week now, mostly recorded messages. There isn't a lot you can do about it anyway. Much to my disgust.

I save the numbers against a contact in my phone titled 'Ignore'. When they call again, I now save myself the trouble of answering. I'm up to 34 saved numbers now :(

i get calls all the time, despite never owning a credit card or having a loan.

nearly as bad as the ambulance chasing accident claimers.

Most the ones I get on my mobile or on the home phone are blocked/withheld numbers so it's hard to source them without detective work.

I find they usually ask for an imaginary person living at my supposed address, and when I say they don't reside here/wrong number etc. they say "oh well whilst you're on the line have you...yadda...loans...yadda".

Fcuk off  :lol1:

For the record, when I did the PPI thing (awaits judgement from the Scoobynet kangaroo court), I rang the bank direct and kept every fcuking penny to myself!

Picked up Mrs from work the other week and as we were leaving one of these morons phoned me. I managed to play along with them until I pulled up on my drive where I just hit the red button on the phone, a full 15 mins of bull****. :lol1:

So you let them waste your time as well?

What a hero! :D

(I have to confess to doing the same thing!) :thumb:

My son (11years old), got a phone this Christmas with a new number. He got a PPI text the other day. As far as I know he's only used the number to text his mates or call family.

They either randomly trawl phone numbers or get active number lists from the mobile providers.

Can't believe that they are allowed to do this.

Not really, I was driving home, nothing else.

I string them along as well as the injury claims idiots.

In terms of loans, I mention 4-5 of them adding up to 75-100k ish. My name is Brian Quigley and I live in the Big Orange House, Hull Road, York. YO10 3JA.

Injury claims, I just make it up as I go along, but it typically involves me either falling down a pot hole, or having an accident* at work.

* accident at work is me pooing my pants because I wasn't allowed to go the toilet, and I'm now unable to work due to mental issues and being too embarrassed to go out the house.

You can keep them on the phone for ages, just making more and more unrealistic stuff up. I've even had a follow up from one place asking if I've had any other accidents, so I say whist in the ambulance on the way to hospital from the first accident, the ambulance was involved in an RTA........

9-10 minutes is my normal standard.

I don't even plug the home phone in anymore. If it's not spam, it's some Granny ringing up wanting her budgie's toe nails clipped.

CharlySkunkWeed 04 February 2013 06:32 PM

I string them along for as long as i can be bothered. It feels like charity work as the longer u are on the line the less other people are being pestered :)
