prodrive recaro classic

I want these in my classic.
Do i sit lower in them?
Are they much heavier as the stock ones?
Regards

alcazar 27 January 2013 08:47 PM

Do you mean the ones that Prodrive fitted as an option?

AFAIK, they sit the same as the standard seats.

If you mean aftermarket seats, sorry, I can't help. Never been tempted, not worth the hassle.......

id perfer a lower seat position if possible
regards

alcazar 28 January 2013 12:44 PM

Ah, right.

Depends what it's out of.
If from a classic, it should sit the same height, but if it's come from a newage, it will sit higher and NOT be as supportive, since they are now made for "larger" people. ;)

g7prs 28 January 2013 02:40 PM

I think the seats in the picture were only fitted in classics so the height should be the same. I've got proper bucket seats in my classic and they are about the best mod I have done to the car.

alcazar 28 January 2013 02:45 PM

What do you have? And any pics?

Sparco prodrive seats.

They make you feel part of the car.

alcazar 28 January 2013 04:05 PM

Very nice........but not very adjustable?

OK for a youngster, but for us older guys, not so good.

I used to have some similar in an Escort, but soon tired of the "one size and shape fits all" approach.

But I agree, they do make you feel part of the car, chucking it about becomes easier.

The trouble with the JDM Classic STi seat's are they are too narrow across the shoulders for me. Made for little Japanese chap's.

Imprezel 28 January 2013 05:07 PM

Do i sit lower if i put version 7 seats in my version 3?

mickywrx 28 January 2013 05:10 PM

You'll sit higher.

Imprezel 28 January 2013 05:21 PM

alcazar 28 January 2013 06:39 PM

What's wrong with the Recaros you showed a pic of? I'd have those......

Imprezel 28 January 2013 06:52 PM

Lol yes you knew what I meant.
I found the runners on eBay brand new being sold by someone. They were listed at 99p start bid so I sent seller a message offering him a £20 + p&p buy it now. He never replied and I ended up winning them for £6.50 + p&p :norty:
I brought the seats off a mate for £350
