i cant for the life of me find the black plastic housing, and the part number S15503110 doesnt seem to tally

Correct part number should be 66065FE050OE, although that won't be just for the plastic outer part, it'll include the cage too, for DIN mounting. Its around 60 quid from subaru.

i actually always had one! had one of the classic dash top mount ones for years but it was bust, screen gone matrix stylee, but managed to find someone who could split it and repair it so now i have the working classic one i just need to get it mounted

saying that if i get a DIN one at decent money ill just sell the classic dash top mount one

is that part number defo it, and not the std clock type panel?

I've got it fitted below my single din stereo but am wanting to put a double din back in so need to move the data monitor to top of dash, it's for a blob also so If anybody has a spare kicking about after gambit is sorted give me a shout ;)

Yes sorry, you are right. That is for the clock panel. I can't find the extra part on there now.
But if you call Subaru, you can explain what it is, they'll know. For a Newage, you can even get a double DIN slot there, for the sat nav.

I think I bought the last one in UK stock a few years back. Dunno if its back in stock or you could try and order one through subaru UK from japan.

bit of a rant....

managed to pick up a new genuine one on US ebay for princely sum of $27 & $30 p&p, so about £37 delivered -bargain :)

then HMRC got a hold of it. they charge VAT on anything imported greater than £15

so the fuks charged me vat on the combined price of item & postage, so £7 then the fuks charged me an £8 royal mail international handling fee!!

so extra £15 HMRC charges for a £17 item
