Router problems - can anyone help please?
Hi all, having issues with a netgear that keeps falling over- I'm not sure what can be read from this log file. 192.168.0.2 is a laptop, not sure of the relevance though.

when you say it keeps falling over, does it drop the DSL connection? is it just wireless that drops out? does it happen on more than 1 device?
|
It was dropping the DSL connection until an engineers visit yesterday, but the log file isn't showing re-connects. I'm trying to figure out if it's LAN side, in particular the references to uPnP and 192.168.0.2 were concerning me.
|
I turned uPnP off yesterday thinking that may be the problem, the following entries have now appeared since I turned it back on
Active Protocol Int. Port Ext. Port IP Address YES UDP 53760 53760 192.168.0.2 YES UDP 52263 52263 192.168.0.2 YES UDP 62874 62874 192.168.0.2 YES UDP 4500 4500 192.168.0.5 YES UDP 5353 5353 192.168.0.5 YES UDP 55452 55452 192.168.0.2 |
How old is the router? Is it well ventilate? Some of them can get quite hot and cook themselves.
|
It's a brand new Netgear DGN1000 Chris
|
There's probably a status page generated by the router that you can view in a browser, probably at 192.168.0.1
Have a look at that which should be more helpful |
