TYRES HELP PLZ..

Hi all i was gona purchase some yoko AO48 tyres which have been off the rim and in dry storage for over a year. Just need some advise on would these still be ok to fit to a fast goin road car? Cheers

should be ok, as long as they weren't knackered before someone took them off the rim :D

Thy have been off the rim since storage and thy have no cracks or damage to the side wall and have been used but still have 4.5ml thread even all round.

Not on a 4wd car I would use exact same size tyre all round.

Yep its 4wd, how about 205 on front and 215 on rear both being 40 width?? Cheers

Like I said I wouldn't do it on a 4wd, you will strain the diff and shorten its life, if all 4 wheels are equal then the diff can do its job equally.

40 is not the width 205/215 is the width. 40 is the profile or height of sidewall. Although both 40 profile, the sidewalls will be different heights making the overall rolling radius of these to tyre sizes slightly different. So its not ideal on a 4wd car and could wind the diffs up. Profile sizes i.e. 40,45,60 are a percentage of the width of the tyre. Not 40,45 and 60mm as many think

Cheers lads much appreciated had a nail in side wall didnt wna buy 2 new tyres but the spending on the subaru continues and seems to b never ending.. Thanks to Rog he worked out the rolling radius and said they wud be out by 8 mm.. Thanks lads
