New Impreza Owner

Hi,

New Subaru owner, just bought a 1995 WRX? (Put the question mark as don't know exactly what model it is yet)

Needs some work currently and a bit of tidying up, but looking forwards to getting it apart and fixing it up.

Mods I know of - Cat Back Powerflow Exhaust, manual boost valve, air filter also have a printout from Powerstation for 270bhp so the Ecu must have had some work.

Im down in Basingstoke, any local owners or meets that happen regularly?

Rob

That's an unusual colour mate but I like it. Jap import wrx's run 260 standard, so with those mods that bhp is realistic. Welcome along and enjoy scooby ownership.

Welcome :)
That colour is for UK cars only iirc and the front bumper is UK as it has washer jets in it once again a UK only thing.

Have a look on the VIN plate in the engine bay and chack the Applied Model Code this will help identify it (hopefully)

Cheers guys, well impressed with this forum so far!

Im gonna check the VIN plate, I have the VIN but after reading up ill just check the plate as its not at mine currently.

Anyone know anything about Powerstation as a tuner, I saw a RR day is set up there soon with some of the forum members but thats who tuned this.

If you use the Search function then you will find plenty about them :)

Searched Google and the forum and the information varies so much I really dont know.

Vin: JF1GC8KD3SG******
Applied Model: GC8CK8D
Option Code: EE
Trim: 510
Colour Code: 56b

UK car not wrx (the K in the applied model code gives it away) :)

Also Ariel is not on rear quarter its on front drivers a pillar so is a uk car :thumb:

Good news on it being a UK, shame its not a WRX but with the remap I think the only thing id be missing would be the TD05 mechanically?

Either way, its been tuned to a respectable power. Once I have it back on the road want to try and get the most from the chassis before going crazy on power, no point having it if you cant make the most of it.

wouldn't worry about it not being a WRX tbh and you should have a TD05 as standard.
If you want to make the most of it your first job, imo, would be to improver the brakes as you have 2 pots as standard and they're not good ;)

speak to Ian Godney @ Godspeed Brakes (have a look in the Wheels,Tyres, brakes section to contact him) as he always does offers (e.g. grooved discs and kevlar pads for my 4 pots were only £100 a few months ago got myself a set and damn there good) and he can over you advice and products to help you

Hi, for meets sign up to Hampshire Subaru (http://www.hampshiresubaru.co.uk/phpBB3/). They have regular meets though most seem to be around S Hants. If you need work doing go to http://www.subaru4you.co.uk/ just down the road in Newbury - highly rated by many on Hants Subaru.

Cheers
Nick

Hi, there's nothing planned at the moment probably because it's winter but should be something once the days get longer and the weather warmer...
Keep an eye on the 'Local Meets' section of the Hants Subaru site.

And good luck with the 'restoration.'

Nick
