Pics of aftermarket gear knobs
Been looking for a nice looking upgrade running WRX Blob.
Can you post pics so I can see how they look, thinking of choosing a Momo one. Thanks |
Both me and the lad had Momo knobs...never again.
On both, the leather came away and the fitting wasn't secure enough. The little Allen bolts hadn't enough metal for their threads to grip and they come loose. |
Thats helpful. Cheers

Tony bought this off eBay when I changed to a 6 speed box. Lovely feel, good fit and looks the part too. Sure they did them for 5 speed. Hope this helps

Out of all the gear knobs I tried, I preferred the original! :thumb:
Also agree with Alzcar about poor fitment of most of them with the allen screws. Unless it has the same fitment (screw) as the original, I wouldn't even bother. It is a bit like fitting metal pedals. They look nice, but feel crap to use! |
One I got screws into the existing thread like the standard item. Looks and feels better imo lol

I eventaully got so fed up with my Momo coming loose, I took it off and modded it.
I turned up a sleeve with a 12mm internal diameter, and the same external diameter as the knob inner. I then Araldited it into place and pinned through it with a brass pin. Once in place, I drilled through it from the 3 original holes, and tapped it M6. It then got fitted using three stainless M6 Allen bolts of a suitable length. No more problems. |
ive had this fitted in mine for about 6 months

Wierd,I was just looking yesterday as mine is well worn.
Found this as it is a perfect match for the Momo steering wheel in a Legacy B4. Don't know if you have the same steering wheel. Gear Knob: http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/...GEAR_KNOB.html Wheel: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...jGVy5oH0x9Twgg |
