is the m/board software for XP? XP is fussy and need proper drivers written for it.
|
not sure, you could have a point there.
Cheers |
let XP find and install all the generic drivers. suprisingly, they are pretty good. installed XP on my notebook and i didnt need any drivers from the notebook manufacturer. usually notebook is a bummer with OS coz of special drivers, but XP generic drivers was good enuf.

just wondering WHY you installed the software for the onboard sound?
|
Try disabling the onboard audio in the BIOS, that will hopefully solve your audio problems.
|
Can you restore back to before you installed the motherboard drivers?
Go to : Start\Programs\Accessories\System tools\System Restore Normally XP makes a restore point prior to allowing installation of drivers...especially if they are not 'signed' |
Tried loads of things, sorted now tho, re-installed XP.
I installed the on board sound as well because ive been trying out music software where ive been mixing two lots of music and the final mix was to come out of the onboard audio to hifi and you could swap between either of the two sources through the SB live audio to speakers. Cheers |
