1st Time using a clay Bar
As title, thinking of getting a clay bar to sort out my white classic, so, what is the best product to but for a beginner, i dont want to be spending alot as such as im an amatuer LOL, so if anyone could point me to a good clay bar priced well and do i need anything to use after the clay bar ?
when using the clay bar, do you lube it with water and polish the car with th ebar then buff up with a cloth like normal polish ? cheers |
best to buy a kit like this buddy
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_255233 use quick detailer as lube but make sure you keep it nice and lubed or you can marr the paint work... and then yeah just dry up/wipe off any excess with a normal microfibre towel.... as for afterwards just a layer of wax otherwise your time and effort would have been pointless if you dont protect the paint after doing it lol |
Plenty of lube...... Not the first time you`ve been told that I bet :D
As above quick detailer will do the job....Or warm water with a little bit of natural conditioner :thumb: |
sound, cheers guys, so i guess you just use a normal polish afterwards, like turtle wax or colour t cut ones etc
saw this kit on the bay, might go for that then, thanks again lots of lube, i wil get the missus to help LOL http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T-Cut-Clas...item3f1ba4a120 |
yeah that kit should do the trick, is it polish or wax you normaly use as they are different things.... polish is more of a prewax cleanser wax is to protect the paint work..... that kit youve put the link to though has the clay wax which should be the last thing you apply to the paint work....

Depends on how far you wana go, with it and how long you want to be cleaning it for, I know people that,
rinse the car snowfoam the car(if you have it and a pressure washer) rinse the snowfoam/dirt off car again wash the car rinse the car off again clay the car rinse the car again wash the car again rinse the car......nearly done dry the car Then you can start to polish the car and when that is finished you apply a wax to protect the finish, But you can also wash it in between the polish and wax bit and dont forget to dry it properly :lol1: Obviously this is going to the extreme and more of a detail than a quick wash, polish and wax, Ive got some pics of mine after a lot of cleaning and it is worth it.....sometimes. Good luck |

I use chemical guys clay block rather then a clay bar
It's like a sponge and you lube it up well :D A lot of people find it easier if your starting off My block has been used about ten times and still going strong If you drop the clay bar on the floor you will have to dispose of it if it gets any grit on it Interesting that some people use blue tack as a poverty package special |
With cheap Chinese clay from Ebay using Blutac would be more expensive ;)
|
Bilt Hamber clay is good, and just tap water for lube.
