Few questions regarding PPI?

I made contact with one of these companies that offer no win no fee. Should I pesue it myself or is it better going through these companies? If so should how do I go about it, if I should do it myself.

Some of the current and cleared agreements I have/had:
Halifax Loan - 2yrs old running
VW Finance -3yrs and ended.
Black Horse Finance - 3yrs running.
Capital One Card 8yrs and running
VW Finance 2yrs and running.

What is the likely outcome?

My last major question is. By claiming PPI does it affect me in anyway, credit rating or etc? Also I have a very good relationship with some of the lenders, should I wish to use them again...will I be declined because of my claim?

Many Thanks.

do it yourself via the actual individual company's, if there is money to come due to you, you get it all no percentage fee to some intermediate button pusher, also if you have got outstanding debts with a company they can use the money to pay that off, problem being the dodgy company that is "handling" your claim will still want there percentage and they come after you!

Never been foolish enough to agree to having it in the first place so no "windfall" for me unfortunately :D

Do remember when I took a personal loan out with Barclays to buy the Scoob that they were practically pleading with me to take it "what if you lose your job?", "I'll sell the car and pay you back", etc. etc. They gave up in the end :D

I spotted this in a mail i got recently, its worth a read.

Alternitivly you can do it yourself, via templates available on the WWW

There have been cases reported, where supposedly people have recieved payout's, but on recieving the payout, have been asked to clear outstanding finance, or accounts closed. ( you need to check the valididty of these though)

+1 always been in rented / shared ownership so they couldn't take the house. The cars were not worth much. Never seemed bothered when we said we didn't want the ppi.

They can generally only take your house if the loan is secured against it. No need for PPI then ;) Got to have a pretty poor credit rating if you need to take out a secured loan in the first place.

Well he'd look pretty stupid going to the ombudsman without even checking to see if he had PPI on his loans wouldn't he.
