Hawk STI DCCD query

During low speed manoeuvres / reversing / turning left or right at a junction, I find that if I leave the box in 'auto' it's horrendous. The car jumps and skips along, tries to straighten the wheels and the diff / something smells really bad!

I've drained the gearbox oil and diff oils, all replaced and it didn't make a blind bit of difference.

Setting the diff manually to full rear is the solution I have found to work for me so far, but surely you would expect the auto function to detect drag and change the power distribution for you?

Is this normal, do I need to man up or does this sound like a problem?

Sounds similar to mine. I put mine to full green when parking etc. otherwise it acts like you say. Clutch is easy to slip if that is the smell?

Yep, MAN UP!. The System is quite agricultural at low revs and when manouvering, Not only the Centre Diff, but the Suretrak doesn't like going backwards as the internals move about and lock up causing wind up.

If you pull the handbrake up just enough you can unlock the diff too that way. Great for handbrake turns BTW.....
