Hesitation on cold start, please help.
 

Hi guys, just bought an impreza turbo 2000 v reg, uk spec. Car is lovely apart from cold starting.

When starting the car, which takes some time, it seems to idle ok. But when driving and accelerating lightly in the car it seems to hesitate quite badly as if it is being starved of fuel. After about 15 mins, it drives fine with no hesitation.

Any help appreciated as to what could be the cause as I'll try and resolve it myself if I can before taking it to a specialist.

hi mate, it could be an intermittent fault on one of your igntion coils. mines not the best at starting in the morning but i put this down to the bosch s4 battery not being powerful enough for my liking but if you also have hesitation whilst accelerating then i would be more inclined to say coils. check the wiring.
