Replacement Nexus 7 screen?

Anyone know of a replacement screen for the Nexus7? I've had a search on the web and doesn't look possible and also phoned 2 local repair shops who said no. So asking on here as a last result as my teenage Son dropped his today off the sofa onto carpet and it cracked the screen

The screens on the Nexus are about as strong as egg shells if they can crack falling onto carpet from what must be no more than 2'

And before anyone goes on about house insurance I don't have accidental cover!

Cheers Jura but it's the actual lack of replacement screens that is the issue. Asus will charge nearly as much for the screen as a new Nexus and there seems to be very little info on 3rd party screens as of yet hence none of the mobile phone shops do the repair yet.

:lol1: cheers. Yep far too expensive to make it worth while at the moment. Add to those prices a poor exchange rate and import taxes and you have nearly the price of a new nexus.

It's going back in the box for now in the hope much cheaper Chinese replacements come out some time soon. He now has a Versus Touchtab I got from Carphone Warehouse for £44.99 and it is surprisingly good for the price and will do him as a backup until his Nexus can be fixed. It was unopened and I was going to be taking it back as it was a present that I then replaced with a better one that came on offer but as he had Christmas money to spend he decided he wanted the Touchtab and he is really pleased with it. Amazing how good these cheap tablets are. I got the Archos 80 from Tesco for my Father for £49.99 and it has a dual core 1.6 cpu and quad core gpu 8" screen and 1gb ram and it's amazing for less than £50!

Just seen the second link and they are $46 per piece and a 2 piece kit so $92 which equals about £60. That's a lot more attractive however it's a bit of a gamble not knowing if they are going to be any good plus import tax etc.

Have you used of those companies before? Never heard of the aliexpress website before.
