hi. have that one on my classic 2000. springs should go round underneath but after struggling for 30 mins gave up and refitted the heatshield over the blanket effectively holding it in position. vast reduction in temps under there now

Lol , thats the way its sitting at the min . I will give the springs one more go when i calm down a bit , and if no joy the heatshield is going back over the top.

worked for me as i said. bit ghetto i guess but its still in place after 5 months and the heatshield is a double whammy

Its easier to put the springs on from underneath if you can, If not tie a bit of wire around the loop on one end of the spring, connect it to the blanket and feed the wire to the other side and pull it through, They are a right PITA, Ive only got one on mine as one flew off mid-fitting and i never saw it again....:lol1:

Got it sorted ! Put the two springs on the one hook and nipped it closed with pliers. Then put two peices off string fed up to where they needed to pull the springs through.Fitted the blanket and pulled on the strings until the loops reached the hooks , hooked them on and cut off string. Actually easy(ish) after a bit of sweat and back ache :)

Intercooler back on tomorrow when the paint is dry . Is it best to give it a good blast to break it in ? Or build it up gradually ?

good idea with using cord. i dont think the blanket needs breaking in but if they do i daresay someone will say
