i like the OEM+ style to Simons modifications so far. So maybe a full newage JDM twinscroll swap would be lovely or id be tempted to get an S5/S6 WRC style cooling package made up and aim for a mega responsive 400bhp ;)
At present I've no engine plans mainly because it's running well... I know I had looked at it and thought about a re fresh but theres no cost difference between a re fresh and a repair because it would have to be stripped in both cases. If I have an issue then I'll address it at that point..... The car drives well really well the handling is fantastic and the grip is quite something it really has surprised me... Acceleration is quite an eye opener, you can drop it in 5th at 30mph and pull away and at 70mph it hits 4,000rpm you initially think it's revving hard due to the low gearing and at a steady 70mph there's no boost but if you plant your right foot boost is immediate and it's blisteringly quick on acceleration. If I ever rebuild my first impression is just a tweeked oem build enhancing on certain areas, one being the top mount. But I like the thought about a twin scroll and what a car it would be then. I would be paying particular attention to finish as well, block and bolts etc I would not be afraid to fit a front mount but it would not be one which I had to mod the body etc to fit it as it would have to be built to fit. |
Totally agree mate.
Let me know when you wanna hatch a plan. ;) |

Alright mate, when you refurbed the steering rack, did you rebuild it as well with new seals etc?
The quick rack on my v3 Type R is leaking and struggling to find a rebuilt kit/seals. |

Yep, they neither stock the kits or are able to get them... other than converting a newage JDM rack, pretty much out of ideas

I don't know what parts would be in there but if it's O rings they must be a standard size ? You may need to remove it and dismantle it to actually see what parts you need.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here but I was not expecting to see you guys still about ! yes still have it and going well, covered very little mileage this year due to personal reasons but it’s sat there safe and ready when I had the chance. Is Photobucket still running as before to post a few more pictures? Great link thanks Alyn, Kostas yes and will have for a long time no plans other than keep it. Ian ! Where have you been mate !! Beef will do ! I may have restored something else in the meantime lol |
Yes Ian values are holding and climbing for the right models, 2 doors mainly but for the right models they will also be dragged up. |

Great to hear that the thread is of such good use, you have had your car for a good few years there for sure assuming you still have that DBM classic.
